MONCTON, N.B. – October 8, 2025 – Cooke Inc. is proud to have been named Exporter of the Year by Food and Beverage Atlantic (FBA) at their Annual Conference and Awards, which took place in Moncton, New Brunswick this week.

Exporter of the Year is a new category in FBA’s award program and celebrates a food and beverage company that has achieved success in exporting Atlantic Canadian products beyond the region’s borders and demonstrated excellence in market development, international growth, and overcoming the challenges of competing on a global stage. The recipient’s efforts not only expand their own reach but also elevate the reputation of Atlantic Canadian products worldwide.

When Lauren McKelvey, Director of Marketing for True North Seafood at Cooke, accepted the award, the focus was on the family company’s team. “So much of our success globally can be attributed to the team we have here locally, at our freshwater hatcheries and saltwater sea sites, in our processing plant facilities, behind the wheels of our trucks, and in our offices.”

Cooke ships locally farmed fresh Atlantic salmon to grocers and food service providers in Atlantic Canada and globally. Cooke is one of the largest employers and investors in the region with over 2,300 people supporting a local supply chain of hundreds of small and medium-sized companies including fish and shellfish suppliers to help them get their products to market.

FBA is a member-driven association rooted in Atlantic Canada, dedicated to strengthening the region’s food and beverage processing sector. FBA delivers programming focused on the sustainability and growth of the Atlantic Canada food and beverage sector, from farmer’s markets to international markets.
